Jerry Pugh

Chief Executive Officer

Jerry Pugh brings a dynamic blend of entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, and a deep-rooted passion for health and fitness to his role as CEO of Workout Anytime. His journey began with a decade of service as a paramedic, where he developed a strong commitment to serving others. Driven by a desire to make an even greater impact, Jerry transitioned into entrepreneurship, where his vision and determination quickly set him apart.

Alongside his business partner EJ, a former law enforcement officer, Jerry opened his first Workout Anytime location in Homestead Florida. Their shared values and relentless work ethic laid the foundation for one of the brand’s most successful ownership teams. With their eyes set on growth, Jerry helped lead the charge in expanding their footprint to 20 Workout Anytime locations.

Now, as CEO, Jerry is focused on elevating the Workout Anytime brand through innovation, strategic growth, and a continued commitment to providing affordable, high-quality fitness to communities nationwide. His leadership is rooted in authenticity, teamwork, and the belief that success is best achieved when everyone is empowered to thrive—both inside and outside the gym.

Steve Strickland

Founder, Board Member

Steve began his career as a personal trainer and club salesman in 1976 while attending Clemson University. By 24, Steve bought his first health club, quickly followed by a second location. Steve’s success as a multi-club owner led to a decade-long development partnership with Industry leader, Health & Tennis Corporation of America, where Steve expanded the HTCA brand within the Atlanta, Chicago, and Dallas markets. In the early 90s, Steve perfected his club layout and design expertise as the Southeastern Regional Sales Manager for industry giant, Nautilus.

Steve’s years of experience in all areas of health club design, sales, and operations have led to his ongoing success in the development and growth of the WORKOUT ANYTIME FRANCHISE model, which Steve founded in 1999 with fellow fitness veteran John Quattrocchi. Over the past 20 years, he and John have led an excellent network of franchisees who join them in expanding our brand of top-quality fitness facilities focused on member experience and value.

Steve’s leadership has led to his being awarded the fitness industry’s prestigious “Distinguished Service Award” by the National Fitness Trade Journal in recognition of his contributions to the fitness industry. In 2022, Steve was also named one of the “Top 175 Global Franchise Influencers.”

Larry Brayman

Chief Marketing Officer, Board Member

Larry Brayman brings extensive experience in marketing and franchise leadership across the fitness, retail, and restaurant industries. Before joining Workout Anytime, Larry served as Vice President of Corporate Affairs for CKE Restaurants, overseeing brands such as Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Marketing for Gold’s Gym Midwest franchise and worked as the North American Director for Luxottica Retail, owners of Ray Ban, Oakley, Lens Crafters and many other optical brands. Larry brings over 30 years of successful brand building experience with a passion for fitness.

Dennis Holcom

Vice President of Operations

Mr. Dennis Holcom joined our gym franchise support team on November 1, 2015 as the Vice President of Franchise Support. From September 2012 to November 2015, he was the Key Account Executive, Franchise Division, at ABC Financial Services in Little Rock, Arkansas: a software and billing company for the health and wellness industry. From November 2011 to September 2012, he was the Vice President of Sales at Shape.net Software in Colts Neck, New Jersey: a SAAS Software company in the health and wellness industry. From May 2011 to October 2011, he was the Vice President of Sales West Coast, ABC Financial Services, in Little Rock, Arkansas: a software and billing company for the health and wellness industry. From January 2010 to May 2011, he was the Vice President of Sales at Motion Soft, LLC in Silver Spring, Maryland: a SAAS Software company in the health and wellness industry.

Mr. Holcom has over 25 years of experience in the health and fitness industry and is excited to apply his wealth of knowledge to the Franchisee at Workout Anytime

Wanda Johnson

Vice President of Internal Operations

Ms. Johnson joined our executive team in 2015, and currently serves as our Senior Vice President of Franchise Operations / Construction. Wanda offers a wealth of knowledge and experience within the fitness franchising field, including construction, operations, and development. Wanda started in the fitness field as a certified instructor in 1985. Over the next ten years, working directly for Steve Strickland, Wanda eventually worked her way up to her eventual role VP of Administrative Operations for Steve and the Bally subsidiary, Richard Simmons Anatomy Asylum. Then in 2013 Wanda returned to the Fitness industry and Workout Anytime’s Founder, Steve Strickland, as she led the growth of our Franchise Operations division.

Wanda’s strong work ethic and commitment to excellence have resulted in many leadership roles throughout her adult life. While taking the time to raise her family, Wanda continued to excel professionally as a freelance private business and finance manager for many small business owners. She also held many leadership roles in the private sector including, management of award-winning cheerleading team for 8 years, and seats on several recreation and HOA boards.

Wanda’s leadership skills, vast experience, professionalism, and thirst for continual growth makes her a critical and highly valuable addition to our leadership team.

E.J. Williams

Vice President of Brand & Facility Standards

With a background in law enforcement and a passion for transformation, E.J. Williams has built his career on resilience, service, and purpose.
After more than seven years as a police officer, E.J. shifted gears into the fitness industry, where he found a new way to serve; this time, through health and wellness.   Alongside his business partner Jerry, a former paramedic, E.J. opened his first Workout Anytime location in Homestead, Florida; driven by the belief that movement, structure, and mindset can genuinely change lives.
Now a key leader within the Workout Anytime Franchise itself, E.J. is helping shape the brand from the inside out. He oversees gym design, maintains brand standards, and works to expand access to affordable, high-quality fitness across the country. His work reflects a deep commitment to both excellence and community by championing wellness, supporting local causes, and inspiring our members, one gym at a time.
For E.J., this is more than a business, it’s a mission.
And he’s just getting started.

John Carsillo

Director of Logistics

John Carsillo, a 1984 graduate of Auburn University, began his fitness career in college. A year after graduation in 1985, John relocated to Atlanta to begin working for American Fitness Center (later purchased by Bally Total Fitness) where he worked in management until 1992. Mr. Carsillo then accepted a position with Australian Body Works, where he played a central role in the growth of the company in the Atlanta market. Over the next eight years, with Mr. Carsillo as Area Supervisor, the Australian Body Works chain grew to 20 locations throughout Atlanta, where he advanced to the position of Vice President of Sales.
Mr. Carsillo’s years of experience and his great sense of aesthetics give him an excellent understanding of the importance of a well-planned facility. From flooring to the last piece of strategically-placed equipment, Mr. Carsillo is uniquely qualified to meet the needs of his clients, whether they own home gyms, large sports or fitness clubs, schools, or hospital rehab facilities.

Lynsay Flynt

Director of Marketing

Lynsay Flynt has over seven years of experience in the fitness industry, where she has specialized in strategic leadership, lead generation, and client engagement. She studied at the University of Georgia, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a specialization in Advertising and Graphic Design.

As a fitness and health enthusiast, Lynsay began her career in the fitness industry post-graduation, where she found her talent for leading herself and others towards accomplishing their business goals. Lynsay’s love for fitness shines through her work and has been a driving force in her success in the industry, in which she has developed hundreds of partnerships with local businesses, created successful membership campaigns geared towards cost efficiency and lead generation, and worked with management to maximize profits and market share while balancing customer satisfaction.

Lynsay is passionate about using her skills and experience to help lead Franchisee on a journey to success.

Mark Ledvina

Senior Accountant

Mark started with us in February 2022 as our Senior Accountant. Mark graduated from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, with a Bachelor of Business Administration – Major – Accounting.
Mark has many years of accounting experience within the healthcare and wellness industry.

Bob Whittier

Construction Manager

Bob is an Atlanta native who graduated from the University of Georgia. He has over 30 years of experience in construction, fabrication, manufacturing, A/V industries overseeing projects. His experience includes selling, planning, design, scheduling, managing, insulation, constructing, budget/estimating. Outside of his career he has been a Scout Leader volunteer for the last 17 years and has taken scouts backpacking in the Rocky Mountains, and canoeing in the Atikaki Provincial Wilderness in Manitoba Canada.
In his current role as the Construction Project Coordinator at Workout Anytime, he oversees new club construction by finding and vetting general contractors, coordinate with architectural firm, conducting weekly construction calls, site visits, working with vendor partners, assisting with low voltage information, providing, and updating club standard specifications documentation.

Jody Womble

Director of Software Systems

Jody began his career with ABC Financial in 2005, when he accepted a position with the technical support division. Throughout Jody’s tenure with ABC, he held leadership positions with the help desk teams, both internal and external training teams, client implementation, and client management. In 2016, Jody became the dedicated Technical Account Executive for Workout Anytime.
In June of 2019 Jody came on board with Workout anytime as a franchise support consultant working with various assigned HQ clubs. His role has evolved to also include being a key point of contact for ABC technology assistance and training. His extensive experience in all roles at ABC has proven to be a value to Workout Anytime Franchise Support Center, our Franchise Partners and club staff.
Besides his passion for fishing, he loves spending time with his wife and daughter where they are beginning to call Georgia home away from his roots in Arkansas.

Sarah Troutman

Onboarding and Wellness Programs

Sarah joined the Workout Anytime team as the Digital Media Director in August 2015 after serving as the Social Media Strategist for the brand’s corporate locations since 2013. Sarah has been in the fitness industry for many years, starting as a membership counselor in 1979. Over the next decade, she served in many roles including; Club Manager, Area Supervisor, and eventually, Vice President of Operations for the Bally subsidiary, Richard Simmons Anatomy Asylum. In the late 80’s, Sarah took time off to finish her education and raise her three sons. When she came back to our industry several years ago, she opted to direct her energy toward the social media side of the fitness business. Sarah is uniquely qualified for the task of teaching others how to use digital media in a dynamic and service-directed way to grow their membership base and manage their local community presence. Sarah is dedicated to the education and support of our Franchisee as they build an awesome member base as well as lasting business-to-business relationships within the communities they serve using the wonderful tool of digital media.

Sarah holds a M.A. in Education, an A.A. in Graphic Design and is a Certified Social Media Master Strategist. Sarah is fully committed to the continued growth of the Workout Anytime brand across all social platforms.

Kevin Box

Kevin Tyler

Field Support

Kevin has been a part of the growth and development of the Workout Anytime Brand since 2008. Over the last 10 years he has either opened or Supported the opening of over 43 Workout Anytime Locations.

Before joining the WOA Team, Kevin held the position of Solution Sales Manager for a Fortune 100 Company where he achieved multiple sales excellence awards including the prestigious Presidents Club Award for highest Sales Quota obtained.

Kevin was a College Student Athlete at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater where he pursued a Business/ Coaching degree and was elected Team Captain of their NCAA Football Program. His passion remains to use his experiences to help and support other Franchise owners on their road to success.

Holly Surface

Field Support

Holly Surface joined our team in December 2022 after two successful years of owning and managing the day-to-day operations of Workout Anytime Kettering. With her prior experience in the field of franchising, Holly has a deep understanding of location management, sales, and logistics. Holly’s strong work ethic and invaluable insight landed her in multiple critical positions throughout her career, where she was able to accrue over 15+ years of experience in membership sales, account management, and sales engineering. Holly is honored to be a part of the Workout Anytime team, where she will continue to assist in making your Partners’ vision a reality.

Joey Stabler

Field Support

Joey Stabler joined our team in February 2023 after accruing fifteen successful years of experience in the fitness industry. Joey studied Business Management at Central Carolina Technical College, which led to him working in Healthcare Administration Management for over five years before he turned his sights on the fitness industry. His love for people and fitness encouraged him to pursue a career in Personal Training at Workout Anytime Sumter in 2013, where he saw smashing success in Personal Training sales. Shortly thereafter, Joey was promoted to the role of Fitness Director, where he continued to change the lives of his members and staff, until he eventually accomplished his main goal of becoming a Workout Anytime Franchise Partner in March 2018.

Josh Biba

Field Support

Josh got his start in the fitness industry at just 17 years old, where he began as a personal trainer and was very quickly promoted to Fitness Manager. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to open a fitness studio as well as own and operate his own location as part of a competing franchise, where he used his ambition and dedication to maximize profits and place his team on a path to excellence.
