Workout Anytime’s 24/7 Fitness Concept coming to North Jersey

Workout Anytime – a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week fitness concept – is making its debut in New Jersey. After signing a franchise agreement with the company, local entrepreneur and fitness enthusiast Donovan Powell expects to open the first of three locations later this year in North Jersey, according to Workout Anytime.Powell is looking to start out in the areas of Elmwood Park and Bergenfield, with a plan to expand beyond New Jersey, the company said.

As the owner and operator of several Phenix Salon Suite locations, Powell is already familiar with franchising. His background also includes working in real estate flipping, wholesaling and direct sales as an agent.

In a statement, Powell said, “I’m known in this community for not just creating new job opportunities, but helping other business owners grow their business. I plan on being very involved in the gym, so my customers know that this isn’t just a business for me – it’s a passion.”

“My goal is to have 20 Workout Anytime locations or more across the country,” he said. “There are several franchisees with the brand who have proven that it can work.”

Launched in 1999, the Atlanta, Ga.-based company seeks to provide gym goers with first-class facilities at the lowest cost possible.

In 2004, Workout Anytime began offering franchise opportunities and has since grown to over 190 locations nationwide. As part of its ongoing expansion effort, the brand aims to sign 50 units in 2023 and have 210 locations open by the end of next year.

The company is interested in attracting new franchisees in target markets, including: Alabama, Virginia, Kansas, New Mexico, Texas, Maryland, Ohio, Arizona and Pennsylvania. Startup costs for a Workout Anytime gym range from $967,350 to $2,071,500, including the franchisee fee, according to the company.
